LGA Fixed Income Portfolio

Light Green Advisors (LGA) manages fixed income portfolios (bond portfolios) for investors interested in channeling the fixed income part of their portfolios towards companies that are more environmentally responsible. Bonds are essentially loans from investors to companies. Bonds are senior obligations of companies that are paid before stock shareholder dividends get paid.

LGA’s Fixed Income Portfolio is constructed from Eco*Index™ companies that have the best environmental performance in their respective industries and therefore a financial advantage in terms of lower long term liabilities that can detract from the cash available to pay coupons to investors.   In addition to membership in the Eco*Index™, LGA requires that the organization issuing the securities carry an investment grade rating from Standard & Poors, Fitch, or Moody’s.

In addition to corporate securities, LGA reduces its fixed income portfolio risk by investing in public sector securities including:

• mortgage backed securities that support the housing market in the US

• debt issued by states, counties, and municipalities

• sovereign debt issued by AAA-rated countries that have strong environmental policies.
